Project Brief: Realise the opportunities for high quality public realm to benefit local residents, shoppers, employees and the wider community. With a network of pedestrian routes to lead into a new public square, it is intended to knit into the existing fabric of Mere Green, whilst legibly marking its new centre.

Whilst on the periphery of the City of Birmingham, Mere Green maintains its own identity and established community. The main thrust of the proposed scheme will be to strengthen the notion of Mere Green as an ‘Urban Village’ by creating a sophisticated, distinctive environment with a well considered mix of residential owner-occupiers, sheltered retirement accommodation and retail tenants.
